Semnare Consortium Agreement

The IN.TUNE Alliance Governing Board meeting took place on June 17-18 in the Norwegian capital Oslo. During the working meetings the Consortium Agreement, a programmatic document for the IN.TUNE Alliance, was adopted. There were also substantive discussions about the IN.TUNE Alliance’s progress so far, but especially about the future of the IN.TUNE Alliance.

Partners from eight European institutions, rectors, pro rectors, students and the IN.TUNE Alliance management team signed the IN.TUNE Alliance’s operational and organizational document – the Consortium Agreement.

The meeting was part of a two-day IN.TUNE session, during which the Student Council, the Executive Committee and the Institutional Managers from each IN.TUNE Alliance institution also met. During the Governing Board meeting, important decisions were taken on the structure, functioning and further development of the IN.TUNE Alliance.

At the Oslo meeting, the Institutional Alliance Managers discussed issues such as their institutional role, communication strategies, both internal and external, methods of promoting the Alliance within their own institutions, monitoring the activities of the eight work packages, and reviewing the main challenges and successes of the first six months as members of the IN.TUNE Alliance

At its meeting in Oslo, the IN.TUNE Governing Board adopted key documents for the development of the Alliance:

  1. The IN.TUNE Association Agreement with the annotations resulting from the discussions
  2. The budget and financial principles that will underpin the IN.TUNE Alliance. The IN.TUNE Alliance budget was discussed in detail and annotations were made in key areas. Also, the budget breakdown for each participating university and the budget for the Alliance staff was established.
  3. Risk Management within the IN.TUNE Alliance was also established

Students’ Council elected its new leadership

During the IN.TUNE Alliance leaders’ meeting, the Student Council elected its new leadership, but there were also solid discussions on the future organisation of this structure.

The IN.TUNE Student Council meeting started with a presentation by Sara de los Campos Valdés of the topics on the agenda. Guests in the first part of the meeting were student representatives from the NMH and the President of the Norwegian Students’ Union, Jens Bartnes, who spoke about the situation of student representation in their country.

The next point of the meeting was the internal organizational regulation of the Student Council, adopting a board of 3 persons (Coordinator of student affairs, Coordinator of events and activities, Coordinator of communication), which is re-elected every one year, starting its activity on July 1st.

The procedure for the election of the members of the Governing Board foresees a period for the submission/proposal of candidates by the students willing to occupy the respective positions, and their election is carried out by open vote following the debates in the Student Council.

After the proposals have been submitted, the first elected chair team is composed of Sara de los Campos, Magdalena Seifert and Dušan Dakić, with the transition being ensured by the provisional board established at the board meeting of 8 May 2024 (composed of Sara de los Campos, Guilherme Araujo de Almeida and Vlad-Cristian Ghinea).

After discussing several possible variants, the Student Council decided that the adoption of any decisions will be made as per the IN.TUNE Governing Board rules: 2/3 of the votes cast (minutes of the meetings will be circulated by e-mail and approved by all members of the Student Council). The Student Council will meet at least 6 times per year (chair team will meet 2 weeks before the meeting to prepare the agenda), each member must attend at least 3 meetings per year.

A dedicated section will be created on the Teams platform for discussions related to the work packages, where the topics discussed during the meetings of each work package, questions and suggestions from student representatives of each member institution can be posted. Following the sharing of experiences by the representatives, several ways to promote IN.TUNE within each academic community in the Alliance were proposed, including online and physical meetings (called IN. TUNE Cafe), distribution of information on the website, social media, newsletter, email, etc. It was also suggested to organize an online meeting bringing together students from all 8 member institutions. The meetings organized on the occasion of the opening of the new academic year (September-October 2024) may also include proposals for student projects to be funded by one of the 8 work packages. Selected projects will be gathered by the IN.TUNE Student Council and discussed in working groups.
