Would you like to practise a language, meet students from other countries and discover new cultures? Join the IN.TUNE Language Café, an online language exchange for students from all eight IN.TUNE partner universities.
The Language Café is a relaxed and informal space where you can practise languages through real conversations with fellow students. Whether you are a beginner or already confident in another language, everyone is welcome.
What is the Language Café?
Learning a language is about more than grammar and vocabulary. It is also about talking to people, sharing experiences and discovering different ways of seeing the world.
In the IN.TUNE Language Café, you will meet students from across the alliance and have the opportunity to practise languages together. You may speak with native speakers or students who are more experienced in the language you want to learn, while also helping others practise a language you know.
There are no formal lessons or tests. Just conversations, cultural exchange and the chance to make new international connections.
How does it work?
Before each session, you will sign up and tell us:
- Which languages you speak or know
- Which languages you would like to practise or learn
During the session, you will be matched with other students in pairs or small groups in Zoom breakout rooms. You can then chat, practise and learn from one another in a friendly, low-pressure environment.
If you enjoy meeting your language partners, you can also stay in touch between sessions through the Language Buddy system.
Who can join?
The Language Café is for students who would like to:
- Practise and improve their language skills
- Meet students from other IN.TUNE universities
- Discover different cultures and perspectives
- Gain international and intercultural experience
- Build connections across the IN.TUNE alliance
You do not need to be fluent in another language to take part. The most important thing is to be curious, open to conversation and willing to learn from each other.
