Participating in the first AIRE conference within the IN.TUNE alliance, held in Vienna between November 3–4, 2025, was for me not only an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences with representatives from the other seven partner universities, but also a chance to learn about the research projects carried out within them and to identify possible directions for future collaborations between our institutions.
Even if I were to refer only to my own field of interest — ethnomusicology, for instance — I believe that many of the aspects presented by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna could be successfully adapted and integrated into our university’s activities.
At the same time, I was pleased to see that UNMB can equally serve as a model for our partners, through the numerous scientific and artistic research projects it conducts, presented at the conference by PhD candidate Vlad Ghinea and Professor Nicolae Gheorghiță, PhD.
Overall, the AIRE Conference represented an important and necessary step in strengthening international academic dialogue, as well as in fostering sustainable interdisciplinary collaborations within the IN.TUNE alliance.
— Lavinia Gheorghe, researcher, representative of Work Package no. 4 – Research – within the IN.TUNE Alliance
The AIRE Conference was an extraordinary opportunity for the exchange of ideas regarding the topics and methods used by musicians involved in research. It was a real pleasure to interact with colleagues and specialists from the other seven member institutions of the IN.TUNE alliance and to discover both common points and new ways to develop projects that involve research work. In my own presentation, as well as in informal discussions, I was able to share more about the musical phenomenon in Romania and the research initiatives I have been part of over the past four years. Connections have already been established for future collaborative projects, which will undoubtedly yield remarkable results and demonstrate the effectiveness of strong partnerships between the institutions connected through IN.TUNE.
